Yesterday I saw a friend who I haven’t seen for a while. She knows about my Breast Cancer and she asked me how I was doing. I told her that I was doing great and that I had one more surgery to go.
I continued telling her how grateful and lucky I am. She asked me how I found out about my Breast Cancer, and I told her that I did not feel a lump, it was detected through the yearly mammogram. I was shocked when she told me that she hasn’t had a mammogram in years!!!!!
I told her, “Are you crazy?” Haven’t you paid attention to my story?
For all of you who are reading this, I urge you to get your mammogram as soon as possible. It SAVED MY LIFE! Don’t even allow the thought that it can’t never happen to you!! Life is too precious!! I don’t smoke, eat healthy, workout and cannot remember the last time I had a drink!! I am a real person and so is my story.
If I chose to “postponed” my mammogram for the following year (something that I was so close to do and I am so grateful I didn’t), this story would have a totally different ending.
Early detection can save your life! Don’t gamble with yours!!!
